To play Soundlab, The Korova, Omalleys, or any other JT Music, Inc. show you must first submit your band info to us. Enter your myspace url below, you will then be asked for some additional contact and general band information. Please enter your myspace url. Do not include "www.myspace.com/"! Only enter the unique portion that comes after the "/".

Want to get on bigger shows?

Be the 1st to hear about big tours coming to The Soundlab, The Korova, and more! Just enter your name, cell phone number and mobile carrier (verizon, att, etc) and you'll get occasional texts about big shows! We send out announcements as soon as we book big tours so your band could be one of the first to ask to get on the show!

Note: It's completely FREE! It costs you as much as it would cost to receive any text. Most people have free in or unlimited these days anyways. :)

The Soundlab

Venue Purpose

We are not a bar, coffee house or pizza place, and we do not have a built in crowd.
We are an All-Ages Music Venue. We put on CONCERTS. People come here to watch and listen to bands.
We provide bands with a place to play that is unique, creative, and a good place to view up and coming bands.
We expect you to act responsibly towards the local music scene. Support the scene that supports YOU.

How to get to The Soundlab!


The Soundlab is easily accessible from I80 or Lagrange Rd/RT 45/96th Ave.
ATTENTION 194th Place is not accessible from Lagrange. 194th PLACE is basically the parking lot in between the building on 194th & 195th STREETS. You can get to it from either 194th St. or 195th St. (See Map Above).

Expected Draw

All bands are expected to contribute to the show's draw. Your goal should be to draw around 20 people. Try to sell presale tickets! (for ticket printing, selecting the date of your show above) Do whatever it takes to draw AT LEAST 10 people. Bands that draw less than 10 people will not likely be asked to play again.

If you do draw exceptionally well you will definitely be rewarded in the future! You will get better shows, on better dates, with a better slot in the line up. You will have the opportunity to play the BIG shows with signed national acts too! Check out the list of national acts we've worked with at the bottom of this page.

Band Compensation

Unless special arrangements have been made or you are non-local touring band you will be paid based upon your draw as follows:

Bands are only paid upon request. Many bands choose not to receive payment to support the venue. That is, of course, very much appreciated. However, if you want/need to be paid, simply ask.

Promotion

We put out a monthly listing of shows, send out show listing through our mailing list, and keep our schedule on our website / myspace up to date. Each band is expected to print their own flyers for each show and distribute them. Shows at SOUNDLAB are what you make of them. All shows are All-Ages. Running an all-ages venue is not cheap, and cannot afford to have shows with no attendees, so you must promote the show as much as possible.

Take advantage of myspace/facebook to the fullest. Change your default picture to the flyer for your show. Change your display name to YOURBANDNAME {is playing SOUNDLAB on DATE} or something similar. Comment all your friends! Post bulletins! Come to another JT Music show to promote your upcoming JT Music show! You will be allowed in for free if you have flyers to pass out! Pass out flyers at other venues! Tell all your friends/family/fans!

Orland mall is a few miles north from Soundlab right on Lagrange and 151st. It's a great place to pass out flyers for your show!

OTHER POINTS

We ask that you please take care of the facilities and the surrounding areas. We are doing our best to keep a safe, clean environment to insure people will come back, as well as spread the word that SOUNDLAB is a great place to see bands. Please be aware that if you break something, you will be asked to pay for it. If you trash the place, you will be asked to clean it up (i.e. throwing toilet paper, confetti, water, etc.). More than likely, if it is something major, you will not be allowed to come back. These are the same restrictions we put on the people in front of the stage watching you. If we don't take care of what we have, it will inevitably close and leave everyone out in the cold. Please keep this in mind and help us help you by taking care of it and letting the management know if something is going on that shouldn't be. SOUNDLAB is always a NO SMOKING venue. There is a smoking area outside. At SOUNDLAB there are NO ALCOHOL, DRUGS, OR MIND ALTERING SUBSTANCES and NO WEAPONS OF ANY KIND allowed on the premises. We reserve the right to inspect any and all persons and items on the premises. Failure to comply will result in removal from the premises.
