When and Where

There will be four first round qualifying battles at each JT Music venue
The Korova in Morris (just west of Joliet)
The Box Social(in Chicago right next to Congress Theater)
The Lighthouse (in Frankfort)

They will take place on Sunday February 21 & 28 and March 7 & 14! Each band will pick one of those dates and one of the venues. The top 2 bands from each show will battle it out in the final round on March 27th!

Prizes

The grand prize winner OF EACH VENUE will receive $500 cash on the spot!! In addition to the cash, the grand prize winner will be given a direct supporting slot on a show with a national signed touring band! We've worked with hundreds of huge national acts and we want to give you the opportunity to play with them! We've done shows with huge bands signed to just about every major and big indie label including

All the bands that make it to the final round will be featured on our site and all our myspaces, facebooks, twitter, etc for each of our venues AND be referred to many different chicago area promoters, agents, labels and venues.

Requirements

Each band will be required to sell 15 presale tickets which are printable from our site. If a band fails to sell all 15 tickets THEY ARE STILL ABLE TO PLAY! You will NOT be forced to pay anything out of pocket like a lot of other battles. However, the band won't be eligible to win out of fairness to those bands who met the ticket requirement unless the tickets are paid for. This is required to cover the cost of doing the show and to ensure that the show will have a great turnout!

How to win

There will be two winners per first round battle; one will be chosen by a panel of judges, and the other by fan voting. The audience will vote right after the headlining band’s performance so be sure to tell your fans to stay until the end of the show to vote for you! The band receiving the loudest crowd response during the voting will advance to the final round!

The later your band plays and the more fans you bring, the better chance you have of winning!

Additional Details

Be respectful to the other bands playing. Please stay the whole show to support the other bands! You will maximize your playing time by setting up and tearing down quickly! Most local shows clear out by the end of the night...the battles are a lot different! The crowd is largest at the END of the night, while all fans wait to vote.
